Nke Nke Enyi Izuogu Foundation For The Needy And The Aged was inaugurated two decades ago when nobody gave it any hope of survival considering the fact that this vision came when the founder was a fresh UNN graduate who combined his education with luxurious bus transport business and whose bitter human life experiences birthed this foundation.

Interestingly, with sheer determination and focus on the vision and objectives, the story line has changed and the name has become a household name not only in the South East but in the entire nation Nigeria.

For two decades, over 2470 widows, the aged and the needy, vulnerable women, young people, children, mothers have benefited from various empowerment programs that are designed and implemented by the foundation.

Nke Nke Enyi Izuogu na Iheme Gburu Gburu 1-12 said that since 1999 it has been that of empathy towards building a society where everyone, including women, girls, the aged, people living with disabilities, pregnant mothers in rural areas who are financially unstable and incapable of accessing quality healthcare and various other marginalized groups will have equal opportunities and access to socio-economic opportunities which will send them on the pedestal to achieving their full potentials and goals despite the huge limitations posed by lack of access to financial resources.

Super High Chief Dr. Amb. Sir Ikenna Aniche who recently had a Chieftaincy title and honour of MMA EJI ACHU UBIAM by a community in his ancestral home Arochukwu said that over 80% of the beneficiaries are women, children, young men and the approach revolves around providing sustainable sources of income that will move them above the poverty benchmark and get them a capacity building.

Speaking further, he reiterated that June 30th will not only be used for anniversary events but also be a day of thanksgiving for Nke Nke Enyi Izuogu’s birthday celebration, appreciating God for his life which without the mercy and grace of our incomparable and unmatchable Father he would have been dead on the 6th of February 2021.

It will also be a memorial for his cherished late parents Mazi Donatus Ikechukwu Aniche and Nneoma Chinyere Catherine Aniche who passed on 6th June, 2017 and 29th June, 2023 respectively .

Speaking on the side lines of the event, he said that he was grateful to God for the consistency in being able to hold this annual event for the past decades despite all set backs, difficulties and trials adding that he is looking forward to doing more.
